About Us

Started in 2018, this partnership focuses on prioritizing, planning and executing landscape-scale forest health projects on nearly 275,000 acres of Sierra Nevada forests. Made up of diverse perspectives and interests, this collaborative will address forest health for biodiversity, habitat, clean and abundant water, carbon storage, fire protection, and recreational opportunities.

These nine entities make up the official project partners and are signatories of the North Yuba Partnership MOU; committed to promoting healthier, more resilient forests within the North Yuba River watershed.

U.S. Forest Service - Tahoe National Forest

Managing over 50 percent of the Yuba watershed, The USFS – Tahoe National Forest is dedicated to sustaining the health, diversity, and productivity of the nation’s forests.

South Yuba River Citizens League

SYRCL unites the community to protect and restore the Yuba River watershed with the understanding that forest health and resilience are essential to a healthy watershed.

The Nature Conservancy

One of the world’s leading conservation organizations, dedicated to scaling up forest restoration across the Sierra Nevada.

Yuba Water Agency

A water district in Yuba County, committed to forest health in the entire Yuba watershed, to ensure a sustainable water supply and reduce the risk of fire for the people of Yuba County.

Camptonville Community Partnership

A nonprofit organization with a mission of rural people working together for a safe, sustainable, and healthy community.

The Nisenan

The Nisenan are Indigenous to the Yuba River watershed where they lived for countless generations prior to contact and long before the Gold Rush. Despite countless attempts to assimilate the Tribe, the Nisenan continue to exist as a Tribal unit, strive to express their ancient culture and seek connections with the landscape.

National Forest Foundation

As the non-profit partner of the U.S. Forest Service, the goal of the National Forest Foundation is to leverage the best thinking, conservation capacity, and community action to measurably improve the health of our National Forests and Grasslands.

Sierra County

Sierra County includes the headwaters of the North Yuba River and has a critical role in participating in the North Yuba Forest Partnership. The county’s highest priorities include reducing wildfire risk, enhancing forest and watershed health through implementation of fire resilient treatments, and protecting its rural communities.

Blue Forest

A nonprofit organization committed to creating sustainable financial solutions to pressing environmental challenges. Blue Forest recently launched the Forest Resilience Bond -- the nation's first financial product to support proactive management of National Forest system land.
